Save game corruption would seem to be something that would plague the core game design, and be worsened by the mod. If I could guarantee it would just work, that would be fantastic and Id play it over any other sub sim (unless we get a new, up-to-date, proper silent hunter or silent hunter successor but.heh good luck).īut the way it is basically 5050 whether it will load a save or corrupt it while Im playing.I cant justify the time spent trying to get it to work. I last tried it in March, and I remember having to load one save 10 times (with the excruciatingly long load time each try, despite my hardware being great) before I was actually able to see anything and not have a Camera out of sectors error. The gameplay fixes and the stuff going on while you were actually out on patrol, was great.

What did the trick for me was to install a version of the Uplay installer someone had uploaded to a Steam Guide page, Ill see if I can find that. Note: in the past it was apparently a real hassle to try to get that mod to work with the Steam version of the game.Įven now, the damn auto-connect to the Uplay servers from the vanilla Steam copy (which is necessary to complete first time set up of the game) did not work right for me.
What I can say is: With the Wolves of Steel mod installed it is FANTASTIC Ubisoft should give those guys who made all those mods and the compilation a cut I wouldve never bought the game had I not seen some pretty compelling info about the mod and yeah, that mod makes that game worth it.
